È sorpresa, ma non spaventata.
Attratta da qualcosa che non comprende, eppure ancora timorosa di ciò che potrebbe incontrare.
Sta guardando qualcosa che noi ancora non vediamo.
O forse… qualcuno.
Mi piace immaginarla così: sospesa tra curiosità e timore, mentre la musica riempie il teatro e qualcosa, nell’oscurità, la sta già chiamando.
Perché prima ancora di incontrare il Fantasma,
Christine deve sentirne la presenza.

She is surprised, but not afraid.
Something draws her toward the darkness, even as part of her fears it.
She is looking at something we cannot see yet.
Or perhaps… someone.
Because before she meets the Phantom,
Christine must feel his presence.

Ciao, sono Laura e sono un’artista.
Nella mia arte cerco di far coesistere e armonizzare realtà e immaginazione, ciò che vedo e ciò che sento.
La natura è spesso la mia fonte di ispirazione: la luce, l’acqua, le atmosfere mutevoli e quei dettagli capaci di fermare per un istante il mio sguardo.
La mia ricerca è profondamente influenzata anche dal Giappone, dalla sua sensibilità per il silenzio, l’impermanenza e il ma, lo spazio sospeso tra il pieno e il vuoto.
Mi affascinano i luoghi misteriosi, le storie che sembrano custodire e il volto umano, capace di raccontare emozioni senza parole.
Dipingo ciò che mi emoziona: paesaggi, acqua, fiori, figure, volti e luoghi reali o immaginati.
“A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.”
Un’opera d’arte che non nasce da un’emozione non è arte.

Hello, I’m Laura, and I’m an artist.
Through my art, I seek to bring reality and imagination together, harmonising what I see with what I feel.
Nature is often my source of inspiration: light, water, changing atmospheres, and those small details that can suddenly capture my gaze.
My artistic journey is also deeply influenced by Japan, by its sensitivity to silence, impermanence and ma — the space suspended between fullness and emptiness.
I am drawn to mysterious places, the stories they seem to hold, and the human face, capable of expressing emotions without words.
I paint what moves me: landscapes, water, flowers, figures, faces, and places both real and imagined.

Lo Scorpione attraversa ciò che deve cambiare.
È profondità, metamorfosi, rinascita.
Dopo l’equilibrio, la trasformazione.
Nel Portale dello Zodiaco della Sacra di San Michele,
lo Scorpione è la soglia di ciò che muta:
ciò che lascia andare una forma,
ciò che attraversa l’ombra,
ciò che rinasce.
Questa è la mia reinterpretazione artistica dello Scorpione:
non fine, ma passaggio.
Non perdita, ma trasformazione.

🌹 Prima viene lei.
Sto iniziando un nuovo dipinto ispirato a The Phantom of the Opera, una storia che mi accompagna da molto tempo.
Per ora c'è soltanto Christine.
Un volto che emerge lentamente dalla materia, ancora incompleto, ancora incerto.
Non so ancora chi sia davvero.
So soltanto che appartiene a una storia che deve ancora cominciare.
E forse… qualcuno la sta aspettando nell'ombra.
Questo è solo l'inizio.
Prima Christine.
Poi la maschera.
Poi la rosa.
Infine, il teatro.
Vi porterò con me mentre la storia prende forma.

I’m beginning a new painting inspired by The Phantom of the Opera, a story that has stayed with me for a long time.
For now, there is only Christine.
A face slowly emerging from the layers of paint, still unfinished, still uncertain.
I don’t know yet who she truly is.
I only know that she belongs to a story that has not yet begun.
And perhaps… someone is waiting for her in the shadows.
This is only the beginning.
First, Christine.
Then the mask.
Then the rose.
Finally, the theatre.
I’ll take you with me as the story slowly takes shape.

⭐️ La bellezza, anche quando non serve.
Questa è una piccola feritoia di Villa Lurani Cernuschi, una dimora storica dalle origini seicentesche.
La feritoia aveva certamente una funzione, ma qualcuno ha scelto di trasformarla in una lucertola.
Ne ho viste almeno due. Chissà quante altre si nascondono sulla villa.
Non so se abbiano un significato preciso. Forse erano semplicemente belle.
E forse è proprio questo che stiamo un po’ perdendo: la libertà di creare qualcosa solo perché è bello.

I spotted at least two little lizards decorating the old openings of Villa Lurani Cernuschi.
I don’t know if they have a meaning. Perhaps they were simply made to be beautiful.
And maybe that’s something we are slowly losing: the freedom to create beauty just because we can.

Si chiama Black Princess, ma nera non è.
È un rosso profondo, vellutato, quasi scuro come la notte.
E forse è proprio questo che amo di lei: quel colore che sembra trattenere la luce invece di rifletterla.
Una ninfea che non ha bisogno di chiedere attenzione.
Basta guardarla.

She is called Black Princess, but she isn’t black.
She is a deep, velvety red, almost as dark as the night.
And perhaps that is what I love most about her: a colour that seems to hold the light rather than reflect it.
A water lily that doesn’t need to ask for attention.
You only have to look at her.
